چکیده
Among various types of alternative energy devices, solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs) operating at low temperatures (300-600°C) show the advantages for both stationary and mobile electricity production. Proton-conducting oxides as electrolyte materials play a critical role in low-temperature SOFCs (LT-SOFCs). This review summarizes progress proton-conducting electrolytes LT-SOFCs from to with emphases on (1) strategies that have been proposed tune structures properties ceramics, (2) techniques employed improving performance protonic ceramic-based (known PCFCs), (3) challenges opportunities development electrolyte-based PCFCs.

Materials for Solid Oxide Fuel Cells
Solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs) have the promise to improve energy efficiency and to provide society with a clean energy producing technology. The high temperature of operation (500-1000 C) enables the solid oxide fuel cell to operate with existing fossil fuels and to be efficiently coupled with turbines to give very high efficiency conversion of fuels to electricity. Solid oxide fuel cells are ...

During the last three decades, a large number of investigations has been reported pertaining to the science and technology of solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs) based mainly on the yttria-stabilized zirconia (YSZ) electrolyte. Because of the problems associated with the high temperature of operation ( ,-~ 1 000 ~ of the YSZ-based cells, there has been a substantial effort to develop alternative ele...
متن کاملStudy on Zinc Oxide-Based Electrolytes in Low-Temperature Solid Oxide Fuel Cells
Semiconducting-ionic conductors have been recently described as excellent electrolyte membranes for low-temperature operation solid oxide fuel cells (LT-SOFCs). In the present work, two new functional materials based on zinc oxide (ZnO)-a legacy material in semiconductors but exceptionally novel to solid state ionics-are developed as membranes in SOFCs for the first time. The proposed ZnO and Z...
متن کاملOxyanions in perovskites: from superconductors to solid oxide fuel cells.
In this article we review work on oxyanion (carbonate, borate, nitrate, phosphate, sulphate, silicate) doping in perovskite materials beginning with early work on doping studies in superconducting cuprates, and extending to more recent work on doping into perovskite-type solid oxide fuel cell materials. In this doping strategy, the central atom of the oxyanion group occupies the perovskite B ca...
متن کاملNovel Mg-Doped SrMoO3 Perovskites Designed as Anode Materials for Solid Oxide Fuel Cells
SrMo1-xMxO3-δ (M = Fe and Cr, x = 0.1 and 0.2) oxides have been recently described as excellent anode materials for solid oxide fuel cells at intermediate temperatures (IT-SOFC) with LSGM as the electrolyte. In this work, we have improved their properties by doping with aliovalent Mg ions at the B-site of the parent SrMoO₃ perovskite. SrMo1-xMgxO3-δ (x = 0.1, 0.2) oxides have been prepared, cha...
